Our site is only intended for use by people registered with us and resident in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. At our complete discretion we may accept or reject orders from people outside of these territories.

You will be able to access most areas of this Website without registering your details with us. Certain areas of this Website are only open to you if you register. We may revise these terms and conditions at any time by updating this posting. You should check this Website from time to time to review the then current terms and conditions, because they are binding on you. Certain provisions of these terms and conditions may be superseded by expressly designated legal notices or terms located on particular pages of this Website. If you do not wish to accept any new terms and conditions after we have given notice, you should not continue to use this Website.

Supplying Us
You are deemed to place an order with us by ordering via our online checkout process. As part of our checkout process you will be given the opportunity to check your order and to correct any errors. We will send you an order acknowledgement, detailing the mobile phone(s) you have agreed to supply. We will send you a confirmation by email once we have received your phone(s). We may refuse to accept an offer of supply: if there has been a pricing or product description error; or if you do not meet any eligibility criteria set out in our terms and conditions.

Pricing


Please be aware that we only pay for mobile phones listed on this website. Any obsolete mobiles received will be recycled accordingly.

All prices include VAT (where applicable) at the current rate. We reserve the right to change prices with out notice, but all orders placed prior to a price change will be honoured at the agreed price when the order is placed except when an obvious pricing error has occurred. Current 'pending' orders are valid for 14 days after the order has been placed. We will send you an email notifying you that your order has been accepted when we receive your mobile phones. If we receive your phone after this 14 day period we reserve the right to change the price of your phone(s) to reflect the new price (either upwards or downwards) if prices have changed during this period.

Terms and Conditions for Mobile Phones (Scroll down for non Working)

Working Phones


Each mobile phone sold should match the make and model in the sale order and meet the following conditions:
  • It must switch on and off.
  • Be complete with battery and back cover
  • The integral bodywork should have no cracks, missing plastics / metal and there should be no missing buttons.
  • The bodywork should not be hanging off the main body of the phone in any way.
  • The LCD must be working and power up correctly and fully beyond the network 'Welcome Note'.
  • The LCD must have no lines or missing pixels.
  • The screen must be intact with no cracks.
  • There should be no liquid damage.
  • A white screen does not constitute a working phone.
  • If the phone has a touch screen the touch screen must be fully functional.
  • The stylus must be included if originally sold with the mobile
  • Slider mechanisms must function correctly.
  • The phone must be fully working and fully functional.
  • Apple iPhones and iPads – All standard functionality and software must be in working order.
  • Dents, chips or excessive wear and tear may lead to a reduction in the original price offered

Non-Working Phones


If your mobile does not adhere to the working conditions it will be classified as non-working. Non-working mobiles should meet the following conditions:
  • It must not be crushed.
  • It must not be broken in half or bent in any way.
  • There must not be liquid damage.
  • No integral parts such as camera, LCD etc should be missing.
  • No integral parts should be detached from the main body of the phone in any way or be missing.
  • Apple iPhones and iPads must have ALL components and buttons still attached to the handset.

Working Apple iPhones


Each Apple iPhone sold should match the make and model in the sale order and meet the following conditions:
  • It must be on a UK network
  • It must switch on and off.
  • It must be complete with SIM tray and all buttons.
  • All buttons must function correctly
  • The integral bodywork should have no cracks, missing plastics, screws or metal.
  • The LCD must be working and power up correctly and fully beyond the 'Welcome Note'.
  • The LCD must be intact with no cracks, lines or missing pixels.
  • There should be no liquid damage.
  • A white screen does not constitute a working iPhone.
  • The touch screen must be fully functional.
  • All standard functionality and software must be in working order.
  • It must have no fake or non original components.
  • iPhones with personalised engravings will be subject to a reduced price offer.
  • Dents, chips or excessive wear and tear may lead to a reduction in the original price offered.
  • The LCD screen cannot be protruding from casing.
  • There must be no Halo (purple ring) effect on the LCD screen.

Non-Working Apple iPhones


If your Apple iPhone does not adhere to the working conditions it will be classified as non-working. Non-working Apple iPhones should meet the following conditions:
  • It must be on a UK network
  • It must not be crushed.
  • It must not be broken in half or bent in any way.
  • There must not be liquid damage.
  • No integral parts such as buttons, camera, LCD etc should be missing.
  • No integral parts should be detached from the main body of the phone in any way or be missing.

Working Gadgets


Each gadget sold should match the make and model in the sale order and meet the following conditions:
  • It must switch on and off and the battery must retain charge.
  • Be complete with battery and back cover
  • Have no missing or broken parts
  • The integral bodywork should have no cracks, missing plastics / metal and there should be no missing buttons.
  • The front and back casing must not have any dents or gauges
  • The bodywork should not be hanging off the main body of the gadget in any way.
  • The LCD and screen should be undamaged with no lines or missing pixels.
  • The LCD must be working and power up correctly and fully beyond the 'Welcome Note'.
  • The screen must be intact with no cracks.
  • There should be no liquid damage.
  • A white screen does not constitute a working gadget.
  • If the gadget has a touch screen the touch screen must be fully functional.
  • All mechanisms must function correctly.
  • All standard functionality and software must be in working order.
  • Scratches or light cosmetic wear and tear are acceptable
  • Dents, chips or excessive wear and tear may lead to a reduction in the original price offered

Non-Working Gadgets


If your gadget does not adhere to the working conditions it will be classified as non-working. Non-working mobiles should meet the following conditions:
  • It must not be crushed.
  • It must not be broken in half or bent in any way.
  • There must not be liquid damage.
  • No integral parts such as camera, LCD etc should be missing.
  • No integral parts should be detached from the main body of the gadget in any way or be missing.
  • ALL components and buttons still attached to the gadgets.

Please be aware:


We do not accept stolen or barred handsets. We check all received phones via www.checkmend.com a crime protection database, to ensure that the mobile phones are not barred or registered stolen.
By submitting an order through our site you warrant that your mobile phone(s) comply with these terms.
If a phone fails to meet our terms and conditions we will change your order according to the condition or the model of mobile phone(s) that you have sent us.

We will endeavour to remove any SIM or Memory cards left in phones we receive and destroy them. We accept no liability or responsibility in the event that any phone that has been sent with its SIM card incurs any charges. You shall continue to be responsible for any such charges.
You are responsible for cancelling any airtime contract linked to each mobile phone. We are not responsible for any call costs that may be incurred arising before, or after, receipt of your mobile phone, or arising from any other circumstances whatsoever.
Fonebank.com reserves the right to reject any handset it does not deem acceptable.

fonebank accepts no responsibility for any phones that do not arrive via either postal method.
Please note that if you use Packet Post to send your mobile phones it can take up to 5 working days to reach us.


Important Terms and Conditions relating to lost, blocked or stolen mobile phones
All mobile phones received by Fonebank.com are checked against the national CheckMend data base in order to establish if any phones have been registered lost, blocked or stolen by the Police, Insurance companies or Mobile Phone Networks .

This is done by Fonebank submitting each15 digit IMEI code, unique to each mobile phone, to CheckMend.

If your phone is found to be registered lost, blocked or stolen you will need to contact CheckMend if you wish to have it unblocked. You will be notified automatically by email of the process you will need to follow.

Any phones that are found to be registered lost, blocked or stolen will be quarantined for a period of 28 days. During this period if the block is removed the phone will be processed by Fonebank.com and the full original quoted price will be paid.

If the block is not removed within the quarantine period of 28 days and the phone has not been claimed by its rightful owner it will be destroyed.

If you feel the information held by CheckMEND is incorrect please email CheckMEND at [email protected] or call them on 08700 112 850 with all the details including the IMEI number and they will assist you.

Data


Please note that it is your responsibility ro remove data from your mobile phone(s) before you send them to Fonebank. Such data includes, for example, personal details, SMS, photos, games, songs or any other data.

Note that we accept no responsibility in relation to the security, protection, confidentiality or use of such data and it is your responsibility to ensure that such data is removed from your phone prior to sending it to us. Please use our free Data Delete Tool to obtain instructions on how to delete personal data from your make and model of mobile phone. If your mobile phone is not listed in this tool then please contact Fonebank directly at [email protected] and we will endeavour to include this code on the Data Delete Tool as soon as possible
By sending your device to us you agree to release us from all and any losses, claims or damages with respect to the data enclosed or stored therein or on any media used in conjunction with the device.

Registration


To register with fonebank.com you must be over eighteen years of age or, If you are under 18 years of age, that you have obtained your parent's or guardian's consent to sell your phone to fonebank Each registration is for a single user only. We do not permit you to share your user name and password with any other person nor with multiple users on a network. Responsibility for the security of any passwords issued rests with you and if you know or suspect that someone else knows your password, you should contact us immediately. We may suspend or cancel your registration immediately at our reasonable discretion or if you breach any of your obligations under these terms and conditions.


Payment


Fonebank offer payment by Cheque or BACS.

Cheques will be issued within 24 hours of receiving your order and sent by Royal Mail First Class Post to the address provided on your account. We will only reissue non-received cheques 14 days after original Cheque issue. Reissuing cheques may take up to 7 days from date of request due to bank administration.

Cheques are valid for 6 months, and will be reissued for up to 12 months after the original issue date.

BACS payments will be in your account up to 48 hours after we accept your order. If you choose BACS it is the responsibility of the customer to enter the correct account number and sort code. We use software to verify these account details, but Fonebank cannot take responsibility for account and sort codes that are input incorrectly. Please note that BACS payments cannot be reissued under any circumstances.
